Dauphin Kings update November 2nd

The Dauphin Kings pick up two eighteen year olds with WHL experience; defenceman Shamus Graham and forward Jesse Sinatynski.

Graham had a brief stint with the Regina Pats last season as a seventeen year old; he also had one assist and two penalty minutes in a single game with Regina this season.

Kings Head Coach and General Manager Marlin Murray says Graham has leadership qualities, skates real well, competes, and is a “go-through-the-wall” kind of player.

An early season injury this year prevented Graham from playing with the Spokane Chiefs, which opened the door for the Dauphin Kings to pick him up.

Graham is friends with Jesse Sinatynski, who is also from Fort Saskatchewan Alberta. Sinatynski started the season with the Kamloops Blazers and was re-assigned to the Alberta Junior Hockey League on October 28th.

Sinatynski played in 3 games with the Blazers and scored 1 goal after being acquired from the Brandon Wheat Kings earlier in the month. In 2009/2010 with the Wheat Kings, Sinatynski had 10 points in 27 games as a seventeen year old.

Marlin Murray says that Sinatynski skates well and is skilled; he also hopes that Sinatynski will be a strong line mate for Captain Shane Luke.

Meanwhile the injury bug continues to linger with the Dauphin Kings. Defenceman Matt McAleenan broke his ankle on Saturday, he is likely out until mid January. Fellow rearguard Mathew Backhouse is day to day with an upper body injury.
